Leonard

LEGACY FOUNDATION

Meyers Leonard, a professional basketball player for the Portland Trail Blazers, was cast many misfortunes in his youth. Between losing his father at the age of six and his mother unable to work due to debilitating back issues, Meyers and his brother, Bailey, grew up learning to appreciate life's smallest gifts. From sleeping on the floor to no running water, the brothers were determined to turn the tables.

For Meyers, basketball acted as his light at the end of the tunnel. While his brother, Bailey, enrolled into the United States Marine Corps and served for two tours in Afghanistan.

Wrapping up his 6th year in the NBA, Meyers has had time to reflect on his formative years. Looking back, he sees some incredible blessings.

THE BLESSING OF PERSPECTIVE FROM HIS SITUATION.
THE BLESSING OF A SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITY.
THE BLESSING OF FRIENDS THAT BASICALLY BECAME FAMILY.
AND, THE BLESSING OF BASKETBALL.
IT IS WITH THIS DEEP APPRECIATION AND RECOGNITION THAT
THE MEYERS LEONARD FAMILY FOUNDATION IS FORMED.

WHEN LIFE GIVES YOU BLESSINGS
SHARE THEM

The Leonard Legacy Foundation looks to serve communities dear to his heart and those who need a helping hand. His wife, Elle Leonard, is guided by the believe that, "When life gives you blessings, share them." It's from the combined effort of these two individuals that the Leonard Legacy Foundation concentrates on connecting communities, promoting active youth and supporting our military.
